How often should I have my gas fireplace serviced?

We recommend scheduling a professional cleaning and safety inspection once every year — ideally before the off-season or before heavy winter use. This keeps your fireplace safe, efficient, and running like new.

What’s included in a gas fireplace cleaning service?

Our licensed technicians complete a full service that includes cleaning glass, logs, burners and firebox interior; inspecting gaskets, pilot assemblies, valves and controls; checking for gas leaks and verifying venting integrity; testing ignition, flame pattern, and safe operation; and providing a post-service summary with recommendations.

Is it dangerous to skip annual maintenance?

Yes. Dust, residue and wear can cause ignition delays, poor combustion or even gas buildup. Annual cleaning prevents safety risks and ensures reliable performance.

My fireplace won’t ignite — what should I do?

Check that the pilot light is lit, the gas valve is open, and batteries in your remote or wall switch are fresh. If it still won’t start, turn the unit off and book a diagnostic appointment — our licensed techs will locate and repair the issue safely.

Can I clean my gas fireplace myself?

You can wipe exterior surfaces and clean the glass, but internal parts must only be serviced by a licensed gas technician. DIY cleaning risks damage and unsafe operation.

Are your technicians licensed and insured?

Yes — every Gas Fireplace Pro technician is a fully licensed and insured gas-fitter trained annually on the latest fireplace technologies and safety standards in Ontario.

How much does a gas fireplace cleaning cost?

Most cleanings range from $149.99 – $299.99, depending on the unit type and condition. We always provide transparent pricing upfront — no surprises.

Do you service my area?

Yes — we service Toronto, the GTA, Hamilton, Newmarket, mississauga, oakville, burlington, Ottawa and nearby Ontario communities.

How long does a cleaning appointment take?

Most appointments take 45–60 minutes. If repairs or replacement parts are needed, your technician will explain options before continuing.

What happens if my fireplace needs parts or repairs?

If a part is worn or damaged, we’ll send you a digital quote within 24–72 hours for approval before work begins. Our focus is always on restoring your existing unit rather than replacing it unnecessarily.

Can I use my gas fireplace in the summer?

Yes — many homeowners enjoy the ambiance year-round. Still, schedule your cleaning before peak winter use so your unit starts the season in top condition.

How can I book a service?

You can book directly on our website or call or text 905-667-7600. Our team will confirm your appointment and send you a reminder before arrival.
